Ashwater Films is a Sydney based production company founded by Ash Gibb in 2021.
Ash Gibb is an AACTA-nominated, multi-award-winning Cinematographer, Producer, and Director with a strong focus on authentic storytelling for commercial clients. With a background in social work spanning over ten years, Ash uniquely combines deep empathy and understanding with exceptional filmmaking skills, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
In recent years, Ash has specialised in long-form storytelling, adapting his versatile skill set to a range of projects, from large-scale productions to intimate stories. His impressive portfolio includes critically acclaimed works from globally distributed Giant Screen IMAX films, to various documentary series delivered for major television networks and streamers.
Over the years, Ash has built strong relationships with award-winning creatives across various disciplines in the screen sector who share a commitment to excellence and a passion for authentic storytelling. Meet the founder
His career began as a skydiving videographer, then quickly expanded into corporate film, television, documentary and IMAX productions. This experience gives him an expert knowledge of the entire production process.
Ash has learned from some of Australia’s leading filmmakers. His work has been recognised with an AACTA award nomination, multiple cinematography awards, and credits spanning major streamers, broadcasters and IMAX screens across the globe.
What sets Ash apart is the combination of his award-winning craft with a professional background in social work and counselling. This rare perspective allows him to connect with people in deeply authentic ways, building trust and drawing out honest, emotionally resonant storytelling.
