At Ashwater Films we believe the strongest films are created through focus, planning and trust.
Rather than producing large volumes of short-lived content, we partner with a limited number of clients each year to develop narrative-led films with depth and longevity. This allows us to work efficiently, think carefully, and give each project the time and attention it deserves.
Most projects are designed as narrative suites — a primary hero film supported by additional pieces created from the same production. This approach delivers stronger storytelling outcomes while remaining efficient and considered.
We prioritise: clarity over volume, collaboration over speed, and lasting value over short-term outputs.

A proud Wiradjuri and Quandamooka man, Ash Gibb founded Ashwater Films in 2021. His commitment to authentic storytelling and elevating Indigenous stories and perspectives creates a value-led culture that consistently produces high-quality film to engage audiences and drive meaningful impact.
Beyond being an AACTA-nominated, multi-award-winning Cinematographer and Director, Ash’s decade of experience in social work equips him with a unique ability to connect with contributors and draw out authentic narratives. Uniting this with the creative talents of the Ashwater Films team, ensures a unique and powerful edge to every piece of work they create.
